HRA and Deductions for UP Government Employees
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| HRA | A fixed monthly amount set by your pay level and the category of your place of posting (A, B or C), at the rates revised from 1 July 2018; enter it from your pay slip |

In 2024 the UP cabinet gave a one-time option of the old pension scheme to employees appointed on or after 1 April 2005 against vacancies advertised before 28 March 2005; those who took it subscribe to GPF instead of NPS. Group insurance (GIS) and recoveries vary by employee; enter them under other deductions.
UP and the 8th Pay Commission
The 8th Central Pay Commission, constituted on 3 November 2025, covers Central Government employees. Uttar Pradesh revises its employees' pay through its own pay committee, and its DA has followed central rates, as with the 60% DA from January 2026. Project central pay with the 8th Pay Commission salary calculator.
