8th Pay Commission and Teachers' Pay

The pay of university and college teachers is revised by the Government after each Central Pay Commission, on the advice of a pay review committee: the 7th CPC reported in November 2015, and the teachers' order came in November 2017. The 8th CPC was constituted on 3 November 2025 and is due to report by about May 2027; a revision of teachers' pay would follow the Government's decision on it. See the 8th Pay Commission salary calculator for projections on the civilian matrix.
