How Pay Is Fixed in the 2024 Revised Scales
Your basic pay in the 2018 scale on 1 July 2022 is multiplied by 1.585, rounded down to the rupee, and fixed at the matching stage of your 2024 revised scale. Pay below ₹27,000 is raised to the minimum.
| Basic pay on 1.7.2022 (2018 scale) | DA merged (31%) | Fitment (27.5%) | × 1.585 |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹17,000 (minimum) | ₹5,270 | ₹4,675 | ₹26,945 → ₹27,000 (minimum) |
| ₹21,400 | ₹6,634 | ₹5,885 | ₹33,919 |
| ₹30,350 | ₹9,409 | ₹8,346 | ₹48,104 |

| ₹1,50,600 (maximum) | ₹46,686 | ₹41,415 | ₹2,38,701 |
The last column is the amount before it is fitted to a stage of your scale; for example, the senior grade starting pay of ₹1,04,600 became ₹1,67,200. Your pay fixation statement shows your exact stage. The interim relief of 17% paid from 1 April 2023 was part of the 27.5% fitment.

| Effective from | 1 July 2022 (paid from 1 August 2024) | 1 January 2016 |

Professional Tax and Other Deductions
- Professional tax: ₹200 a month, and ₹300 in February, on monthly salary of ₹25,000 or more, from 1 April 2025. Source: Karnataka professional tax amendment, 2025.
- NPS: 10% of basic pay + DA for employees under the National Pension System.
- Income tax: new regime by default, with the ₹75,000 standard deduction and no tax up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income.
- Others: KGID, group insurance and loan recoveries, as on your pay slip.
8th Pay Commission and Karnataka Employees
The 8th Central Pay Commission, constituted on 3 November 2025, covers Central Government employees and pensioners. Karnataka revises its employees' pay through its own State Pay Commission, so the 8th CPC does not change Karnataka pay directly. See the 8th Pay Commission salary calculator for central projections.
